During the spring and summer, the
area is blessed with many festivals and conventions, then in the fall and winter, you'll find special events in addition to the fabulous show Mother Nature puts on. Outstanding scenery and recreational opportunities make the Blue Ridge Mountains America’s Favorite place to be.

The New River Trail
Recreational pursuits include hiking, biking and horseback riding on the New River Trail which stretches 39 miles along the New River. The New River Trail is rich in beauty and regional history.

Blue Ridge Mountain Music
Celebrating the music and musicians of the Blue Ridge, the Blue Ridge Music Center and the Rex Theater are used to highlight an important strand of American musical culture, which is still alive and thriving in the region. Also see The Crooked Road, Virginia's Heritage Music Trail.
